The second record of a rare migratory species this season.

A rare passage species in Kazakhstan. The most recent photographic record in the country was made on 21 April 2022 in the Suzak District of Turkestan Region (Martin Grienenberger; see the website gallery). In Mangystau Region, only two records supported by photographic evidence are known from recent decades of the 21st century: 20–24 May 2009 in the Kenderli area (Neve et al., 2010) and the present observation.

A new species for the Teniz-Korgalzhinsky region. The first photographic confirmation on the website for the Kazakh Uplands. Recorded on March 28 and 30 in different parts of the village.

The first photo recording of a Northern Bullfinch in Almaty on the website is a rare sighting for a region where they were previously observed during wintering in the mid-20th century and have now become only occasionally encountered.

First registration in Western Altai.

First record of the European Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros gibraltariensis) in the southeast and the easternmost find of this subspecies in Kazakhstan.

This is the third registration of this species in Kazakhstan and the second this season.

The sixth record of the species in Kazakhstan.

The third registration of the species in Kazakhstan, in the same location as the previous find on September 8, 2025 (Zh. Ibatov, see the website gallery).

Breeding was recorded in North Kazakhstan Region (SKO), confirming the southeastward expansion of the range of Ph. o. gibraltariensis.

Second record in Kazakhstan.

A new species in the fauna of Kazakhstan. The bird was observed: Nurlykhan Ismailov, Orynbasar Shaikhmukhanbetov, Til Dieterich, and Aibat Muzbay. The Namaqua Dove is an African species that has been actively expanding northward in recent decades. In Central Asia, it was recorded in Uzbekistan (Mitropolsky, 2014).

A solitary bird was observed by Rishat Batryakov and colleagues from Bulgaria (BSPB), Petar Yankov and Vladimir Mladenov, in a flock of other geese and brants. This is only the second photographic observation of this species on the website.

A rare vagrant occurrence away from the main range in the Altai. Previously, vagrant records were known from the southwestern spurs of the Dzungarian Alatau in 1941 and 1948, as well as from the vicinity of the settlement of Usharal in 1965 (Gavrilov E., Gavrilov A., 2005).

This is the second record of the species, confirmed by photographic documentation. The first occurred on 3 January 2013, when a first-year male was trapped on the southern outskirts of Almaty (Afanasyev, Dvoryanov, 2013).

The second record of the Pallas's Rosefinch in the Naurzum Nature Reserve and throughout Kazakhstan is the fourth record from its main habitats in the east of the country.

A resident high-altitude species, occasionally descending on altitudinal movements to the foothills and nearby plains. One bird was found in the southeast of the Akmola region at the western foot of the Yereymentau mountains in a flock of Redpolls and Long-tailed Rosefinchs. This is more than 700 km west of the nearest habitat in the Altai Mountains.

A new species for the Katon-Karagay State National Park. The first photo on the website is from Eastern Kazakhstan.

First recorded in western Kazakhstan. The Dusky Warbler breeds in the southwestern Altai and is found during migration in the southeast of the country.

A new species in the avifauna of Kazakhstan.

The second record in Kostanay region. Previously, a Collared Flycatcher was photographed by A. Timoshenko on May 4, 2012, at Lake Batpakol (Kostanay region).

The second record in Kazakhstan, more than 200 km north of the previous one.

A new species for the Kostanay region and the first recorded nesting. Five pairs were found per 1000 m, which were feeding the fledglings. The new point is located approximately 230 km northwest of the nesting find near the village of Taldysay in the Karaganda region (Belyalov 2013), which may indicate an expansion of the range of the White-crowned Penduline Tit to the north from the main nesting sites.

The sixth record of the rare vagrant species, which is predominantly found in the southeast of Kazakhstan.

A rare record to western Kazakhstan. It is worth noting that on May 9 of the same year, one bird was photographed approximately 260 km to the south in the area of the village of Ushtagan in the Mangistau region.

The second record of the White Stork to the Mangistau Peninsula. The bird was photographed by an unknown shepherd near the village of Ushtagan, the photo was given to the staff of the Kyzylsay State Nature Reserve. This species was first noted on May 7, 2011 along the highway 50 km north of Aktau (Grunberg, see the website gallery).

The second photo registration of the Amur falcon in Kazakhstan and the first photo on the site. The first reliable record was quite recently in 2023 on May 19, 20 km north of Taldykorgan (Bartoshchuk, Nikolenko, Karyakin, 2023).

A new species in the fauna of Kazakhstan. The bird was discovered and identified by its song by Andrey Ralev (Bankwatch, Bulgaria) during an expedition to Ustyurt from Mangystau Bird Camp.

The fifth record of the species in Kazakhstan. Previously, there were finds: 20 May 2019 and 3 June 2020 in Tengiz, May 13, 2017 in South Ustyurt (see in the gallery of the site), on August 31 and September 8, 2010, a female was observed in Kenderli (Gubin, 2015).
